# What does it mean to register as a DRep?

[Delegated Representatives (DReps) ](/cardano-govtool/faqs/what-is-a-drep.md)are like 'parlimentary representatives' in the Governance system. DReps can have other ADA holders to delegate their voting power to them, which allows DReps to vote by proxy using the accumulated Voting Power of all their delegators. \
